Note: From time to time I open a chat room on AOL called Spirit Mom. The Spirit Mom chat room is close to my heart, and it feels like a space of serenity and peace for others to come and visit and where Spirit works it's magic. I love the Spirit Mom energy.

Following is the profile I used to explain Spirit Mom to those visiting the chat room. I still like it, and it probably gives a good view of who I am and why I do what I do.

Who is Spirit Mom?

A practicing psychic who believes that all have the ability to Know and to be open
to Spirit.

A channel, a medium and a psychic. (We can talk about what that means later, if
you like.)

One who honors the Spirit within you by guiding you to make your own choices;
those that are most in keeping with your Spirit.

One who probably believes that whoever your partner is, they may not be good
enough for you anyway, 'tis the mother in me, after all. (Sorry, just kidding.)

One who wishes for you that all your dreams come true and applauds as you walk
your path.

Why Talk with Spirit Mom?
 

Spirit Mom will listen to what you say and hear what you don't say.

She will feel the pattern in your life and understand your struggle in ways that may
not be possible from your current perspective.

SM will help you find ways to keep your balance in difficult situations and remind
you that you are a Spirit of great knowing and wisdom

Mostly though, Spirit Mom will listen with great patience, envelop you in love, and

Don't Call Spirit Mom if....
 

You want someone to think for you ... SM helps you sort out your own
thoughts and feelings.

You want someone else to fix it for you ... SM will help you see how to fix it, so
that in fixing it, you gain strength and confidence.

You truly believe that someone else can make you happy ... So often we
focus on what another thinks of us, so seldom we think of what we think of us. SM will encourage you to see and believe in the wonder of you, so that others will see it as well.

You are unwilling to consider loving yourself ... This is so important! It is true
that to love others, you must first love yourself. Many confuse loving self with being some self absorbed arrogant personality. Truly loving self is to have a generosity of spirit for yourself. Do not require perfection, require instead good intention. Mistakes will happen, it is how we learn. Allow yourself to be human and your compassion for others grows as well.

What you really want is someone to play "Ain't it awful" ... It is not that I lack
compassion for the difficulties that lie on our paths. It is simply that to concentrate on them seems a poor use of energy. I would much rather focus on solutions, on creating a new beginning, than to convince myself, or you, that obstacles are truly insurmountable.

You want an intellectual discussion about Spirit ... Sorry it makes Spirit
Mom's teeth itch! Spirit is experiential for SM, not a mental or intellectual gymnastics exercise. Ask her instead to share some tools so that you may have your own experience of Spirit.

About Spirit Mom Readings

Are there certain questions SM will not answer?
        You bet, SM does not diagnose illness or pregnancy.
        SM does not forecast death.
        SM does not answer questions for those under 21 years old.

Why does Spirit Mom do Readings?
    She has been guided to do readings to assist others in listening to their own         inner wisdom and so that others remember that Knowing is a gift shared by all.
    Because there are times that each of us is simply unable to see clearly for
ourselves.
    To share with others the guidance provided by the Universe to assist us in this Earth journey.

What kind of Reading should I expect?
    Early in her psychic experiences SM used tarot and runes in readings, now, online, she just listens. SM receives images and phrases that are specifically meant for you. Occasionally, her guides actually channel directly. When this occurs she may seem to ignore what is being written by others in the room and will type short lines of information rapidly. When the message is complete, she will then discuss any questions that may have come up during the channeling. SM is not choosing to
ignore your questions while channeling, rather her focus is directed within at that
time.
    SM also sometimes receives messages from those who have passed over. When
working as a medium, Spirit Mom is easily distracted and asks that you limit your questions so that she may focus on the connection.

How do I Prepare for a Reading?
    A good psychic reading is a meeting between your Spirit and the Spirit of the
reader. It should always be given with respect and love, and for your highest good. Never substitute your own Knowing for that of a reader. As with any information, filter it through your own internal sense of what is so. If something said does not resonate within you, then discard it. You are the best judge of what is right for you.  Prepare your questions carefully; they open up the topics to be discussed
in your reading.
