WHAT DOES LISTEN TO THE LIGHT MEAN?

This is a question that I have been frequently asked, though a bit less often now that the explanation, "Learn the Language of your Soul" has arrived from my guides.

And while I love the name, Listen to the Light, I claim no personal credit for it. Rather, the name was given to me one morning as I considered a new screen name that would encompass my feelings about making a personal re-commitment to respect my own my inner guidance. Little did I know then how well the name would wear over time or that it was actually an arrow pointing to my life's work.

To listen to the light initially meant to listen to my inner guidance, to the Divine within.  It also meant to begin to act on that guidance and to live my life more fully in the flow of Spirit. As I began to do that, I discovered that listening to the light also meant letting go of some old beliefs and patterns and revisiting my choices with the question, "Does this serve the highest in me?" Over time, choosing the soul-full path has slowly restructured my life.

And while I seem in no imminent danger of sainthood, simply asking that question has helped me to lead a more Spirited life, full of love and laughter ... and light. So that now, my connection to Spirit is the fabric on which I live my life.  And I must say, Spirit has sent me on some interesting journeys. Often I have walked holding on with white knuckles, other times I have gone joyfully. Yet, each day I find I walk more confidently in the light.

Finally, to listen to the light means giving up some of the drama and trauma of life. While energetically invigorating, high anxiety is simply not conducive to maintaining my connection to Spirit. Neither is living in fear and worry. And so I choose to focus on what I want, rather than on what I don't want. Life seems to work much better that way. So choosing to focus on the positive, the gifts in life and what I choose to have in my life, is also to Listen to the Light.

Which takes me to my newest awareness that this name, given years ago, was actually pointing me toward my future. Because now I find myself creating positive affirmation tapes and teaching classes to help others listen to their own light and of course channeling Jehorvah, who to me, is light.

Ahhhh Spirit. You've got to love it!

And what does the light sound like, you ask?

Like the laughter of children.
